UFOs in Southern England?Lights Around the Spinnaker Tower at Portsmouth. Extraterrestrial?
This naval port isn't Roswell, USA, but rumours of UFO's in Portsmouth in the UK, and of aliens hovering around the iconic landmark, have set the city buzzing.
So many people have been intrigued by the colourful lights of the Spinnaker Tower in the South Coast town of Portsmouth, that plans have been announced for a visit from some extraterrestrial beings during a spectacular autumn event. So, forget Nevada, USA. E.T. may be coming home to Portsmouth. Alien invasion set for OctoberThe 16-day "Alien Invasion" will take place between Saturday 18th October and Sunday 2nd November 2008, and visitors who boldly go to the Spinnaker Tower during the event will be able to rub shoulders with beings from outer galaxies. An exhibition of sci-fi movie props and costumes, including favourites like Darth Vader, Daleks, Robocop, Yoda, Terminator, Alien and many more, will be on display. Creatures, outfits, and paraphernalia from movies like Star Wars, Alien, Lost in Space, X-Files, Robocop, Dr. Who, and Mars Attacks will capture the imagination once again. Said Heather Deeley, Marketing Manager at the Spinnaker Tower, "Everyone's seen a sci-fi film that's captured their imagination at some point, and even if you're not normally a sci-fi fan, to see an original, imposing Darth Vader costume from the world-famous Hollywood films right in front of your eyes with a sky-high panoramic backdrop behind is pretty impressive". Music to Encourage Aliens to Visit the Spinnaker TowerIn order to encourage aliens to visit, atmospheric background music will be provided – the sort the enthusiasts like as well. The exhibition is FREE to earthlings with admission to the famous Tower. Aliens will probably land on the Tower in a UFO – watch out for Flying Saucers. And who knows, maybe the alien enthusiasts who are convinced that the Spinnaker Tower’s flashing colourful lights have the capacity to attract beings from outer space are right! One fantastic exhibition*! Message from E.T.Please note, E.T. will not be able to attend. E.T. gone home. List of Exhibits for the Alien InvasionN.B.
