Gettinng to Sentosa Island is half the fun, and the best way to reach the resort is to cruise into it by means of a scenic cable car ride from Mount Faber - especially at sunset when the views are spectacular. Take a taxi direct or take a coach and drive past the container port to the cable-car terminus and take the aerial tram across the island right to the centre. If you're afraid of heights, or just looking for a cheaper way to get there, then take the new North-East MRT line all the way to the Harbour front station and catch the ferry from there to the island.

After disembarking, take a stroll through the Butterfly Park and Insect Kingdom while thousands of butterflies flutter around you before venturing into the Insect Kingdom for the dazzling display of over 5,000 fireflies. There are more than 3,000 species of the world’s most beautiful and rare insects here.
From butterflies and insects to tropical fish at Underwater World, Asia’s first and largest tropical fish oceanarium with more than 6,000 fish from 350 species. Served by a moving travellator, you can marvel at the larger-than-life sea creatures as well as the smaller fish like sea dragons (a relative of the little sea horse) that swim past and over you as you voyage through an 83-metre acrylic tunnel.
Then visit the Dolphin Lagoon to see rare pink dolphins perform their natural antics such as tail-flapping and vocalisations. Depending on the number present, it is often possible to wade into the shallow waters under staff guidance, to touch and feed these highly intelligent animals.
If your interest lies in history, an unmissable exhibition on Sentosa is the fascinating Images of Sinapore which highlights moments of history during World War II.in Singapore and displays imagtes of various festivals in days gone by.
If you are there during the evening, then enjoy the Magical Sentosa Show, an all new SG$4 million spectacle that transports you to a fantasy world where ten tonnes of special effects and five original musical scores add up to a musical and visual extravaganza not to be missed. The evening can also include a 20-minute stop at Rasa Sentosa for a light mean before enjoying the laser show at the nearby musical fountain, best seen after sunset. If you return by cable-car you will be rewarded with a beautiful view of the harbour and the cruise centre.
