Although downtown Bangkok is a mere 25 km. from Suvarnabhumi Airport, the new international airport that serves the city, an airport hotel may be required due to late arrival, early flight, or a short transit period between arrival and onward flight . The journey to the city is advertised at 25 minutes, but this does not take into account Bangkok’s notorious traffic, and at peak times the journey can take up to an hour from Airport to Sukhamvit. Bangkok's Don Muang serves mainly domestic flights, are there are also hotels nearby this airport, as there are on Phuket island, from where many flights transit Bangkok.
There is only one 4-Star hotels at Suvarnabhumi but there are a number of 3-star establishments nearby, all offering good facilities.

The neighbouring area houses the Bangkok International Trade & Exhibition Centre (BITEC) at Bangna and it is not too far from the Crocodile Farm.
